We're Back!
Vietnam, XCT, Distribution News & What's Next for COMICS2MOVIES
Hi COMICS2MOVIES Community,
Welcome to another COMICS2MOVIES newsletter!
Firstly, I want to apologise for the gap between updates. It’s been a little while since my last email, but for a very good reason—I recently took a well-deserved break with my family and spent some time in beautiful Vietnam.
After what has been an incredibly busy and challenging period, it was exactly what we needed. We spent our days eating amazing food, enjoying a few drinks, swimming, exploring, and simply spending quality time together. Some of the places we stayed were absolutely breathtaking. In fact, there were moments where it genuinely felt like we had stepped straight onto the set of a Hollywood romantic comedy. Palm trees, stunning beaches, incredible sunsets, and resorts that looked too good to be real. It was the perfect opportunity to recharge before what promises to be a massive year ahead.
Unfortunately, not all the news has been positive.
While I was away, our website experienced a significant hack, which has caused a range of issues behind the scenes. As a result, purchases through our online store have been temporarily disabled while we assess the damage and determine the best path forward.
At this stage, it’s looking increasingly likely that we’ll need to completely rebuild the website from the ground up. While that’s frustrating, we’re viewing it as an opportunity to create something even better for our readers and supporters. It will take some time, but we’ll keep everyone updated as progress is made.
On a much more exciting note, we’ve been working on some developments around distribution that we hope to share with you very soon. It’s still early days, so I can’t say too much yet, but we’re optimistic about what these opportunities could mean for COMICS2MOVIES and getting our books into the hands of even more readers around the world.
Speaking of exciting projects...
It’s been a few years since we’ve released anything from the world of Xtreme Champion Tournament (XCT), but that’s about to change in a big way.
Our next Kickstarter campaign will feature the long-awaited remastered edition of Xtreme Champion Tournament Volume 1, bringing Australia’s #1 independent comic series back for a whole new generation of readers.
Alongside the remastered volume, we’ll also be launching an all-new XCT Mythology Graphic Novel, introducing several new characters, creatures, and legends that expand the universe in exciting directions. Long-time fans and newcomers alike will discover fresh stories and battles that further enrich the world of XCT.
Following that release, we’ll be bringing out XCT: Most Wanted, a fully recoloured and relettered anthology collection that breathes new life into some fan-favourite stories.
Featuring characters such as Genghis Khan, Achilles, the Tengu, Frost Giant, and Taniwha, this remastered edition showcases the incredible scope of the XCT universe. The updated colours and production quality elevate the storytelling and artwork while opening up entirely new possibilities for future stories.
For those who have been waiting patiently for XCT’s return, I can honestly say it will be worth it.
As always, thank you for being part of the COMICS2MOVIES community. Whether you’ve backed a Kickstarter, purchased a book, visited us at a convention, shared our work online, or simply followed our journey, your support means more than you know.
In our next update, we’ll have more information on launch dates, convention appearances, distribution news, and several exciting projects planned for 2026.
Until then, thank you for your continued support and belief in independent storytelling.
Warm regards,
Shaun Keenan
